Bridging World-Class Hospitality Design with Utah Living
TBU International is a concept design driven co. with a rich background in Architecture, Planning, & Landscape Architecture. Established in Hawaii in February 2002, our founding member Norman Harris has worked in and led many international design teams in the hospitality field.
Now based out of Layton, Utah, Norm is excited to connect the unique experiences of his past to an exciting future in a more local and largely residential market. In saying that, he contends that:
"......good design is neither a product of cost or size."— Norman Harris, Founding Member
Over 24+ years of experience have proven that memorable spaces do not depend on lavish budgets or overwhelming square footage. Instead, they require deep respect for natural topography, precise sun angles, durable materiality, and spatial logic that accommodates how people truly live and gather.

The Principles That Guide Every Design
Design Neither of Cost nor Size
We reject the idea that only mega-mansions deserve architectural brilliance. A modest garden courtyard or a targeted patio renovation designed with rigor produces just as much daily joy as an expansive estate.
Contextual Sensitivity
Utah's climatic extremes—hot dry summers, heavy winter snows, fierce canyon winds—demand materials and botanical selections engineered to thrive, not fight against nature.
Seamless Indoor-Outdoor Living
Drawing on hospitality resorts where guests flow naturally between indoor retreats and open-air terraces, we structure residential floor plans so the outdoors feels like an organic extension of every room.
